Watches and Wonders 2023: Guide to the Largest Watchmaking Gathering in Geneva

Watches and Wonders 2023 is a must-attend event for watch enthusiasts, collectors and professionals. It will take place from March 27 to April 2, 2023, at the Palexpo convention center in Geneva, Switzerland. With 48 exhibiting Maisons, including some of the most prestigious names in the industry, it will be the largest watchmaking gathering ever to take place in Geneva. Watches and Wonders 2023 is the successor of the former Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), which was rebranded in 2020 as Watches and Wonders Geneva. The event aims to showcase the latest innovations, trends and creations in the world of fine watchmaking. It also offers a rich program of activities, such as conferences, workshops, exhibitions and live shows.

Watches and Wonders 2023 will be divided into two parts: In the Salon and In the City. In the Salon will be reserved for the press, retailers and guests of the exhibiting Maisons from March 27 to March 31. In the City will be open to the general public from March 27 to April 2, with various activities taking place in different locations across Geneva. In addition, there will be a special evening on March 30 from 5 to 9 pm, where the streets of Geneva will be animated with watchmaking displays and entertainment.

Grand Seiko will present its entire lineup for Watches and Wonders 2023, featuring updated iterations of popular models from the past and more. One of them is the Spring Drive SBGA481 "Tokyo Lion", which pays tribute to the brand's emblematic symbol with a titanium case and a "lion's mane" textured dial in a brilliant opaline hue.

Rolex will unveil its new Oyster Perpetual Explorer II Ref. 226570, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the iconic model. The new Explorer II features a larger 42 mm case, a redesigned bracelet with an Oysterlock clasp and an Easylink extension system, and a new-generation calibre 3285 with a Chronergy escapement and a blue Parachrom hairspring.

Patek Philippe will reveal its new watches for Watches and Wonders 2023, spanning an array of references from the Calatrava, Grandmaster Chime, Minute Repeater and more. Some of the notable pieces include:

1- The Grandmaster Chime Ref. 6300GR, which is the most complicated wristwatch in the current collection, with 20 complications and a two-tone case in white and rose gold.

2- The Grandmaster Chime Ref. 6300/403G, which is a gem-set version of the previous model, with 118 baguette-cut emeralds and 291 baguette-cut diamonds adorning the white gold case and dial.

3- The Minute Repeater Tourbillon with Retrograde Perpetual Calendar Ref. 5316/50P, which combines three grand complications in a platinum case with a blue metalized sapphire crystal dial.

4- The World Time Minute Repeater Ref. 5531G, which features a new cloisonné Grand Feu enamel motif depicting a steamship on Lake Geneva on its white gold dial.
