Run WhatsApp without the Internet - a new revolutionary feature from WhatsApp in 2023

The WhatsApp application announced a new revolutionary feature that will allow application users around the world to bypass the ban that some countries may impose on the application, whether by blocking the application or cutting off the Internet from it.

This new feature is the ability to connect via a "Proxy Server" or run WhatsApp without the Internet as some call it, where people in countries where the government prohibits the use of WhatsApp can access the application and operate it fully through a server proxy address that is entered within the application settings

Run WhatsApp without the Internet and bypass the ban via a proxy server

A proxy or proxy is an intermediary address entered through the application, which acts as an intermediary between the phone and the Internet to circumvent the ban imposed on the application by changing its address.

Many organizations and volunteers provide free proxy addresses that you can use, and if a proxy address you use is blocked, you can use another proxy address.

Connect to a proxy on Android devices

  1. Make sure you are using the latest version of WhatsApp.
  2. On the Chats screen, tap More options > Settings.
  3. Click on Storage & data > Proxy.
  4. Click Use Proxy.
  5. Click Set Proxy and enter the proxy address.
  6. Click Save.
  7. A check mark will appear once the connection is successful.

If you still can't send or receive WhatsApp messages using a proxy, that proxy might be blocked. You can long press the blocked proxy address to delete it, then enter a new proxy address to try again.

Contact an agent on iPhones:

  1. Make sure you are using the latest version of WhatsApp.
  2. Go to Settings in WhatsApp.
  3. Click on Storage & data > Proxy.
  4. Click Use Proxy.
  5. Enter the proxy address and click Save to connect.
  6. A check mark will appear once the connection is successful.

WhatsApp confirms in its blog that the use of a proxy via the new feature will not change the level of privacy and protection provided by the application, as messages and calls will remain protected with full encryption between the two parties.

This means that it stays between you and the person you're communicating with, and no other intermediary will ever see it, not even proxy servers, WhatsApp or Meta Inc.
